X-Men Reviews

I'm a little surprised how well 'X-Men: First Class' is being received. Early clips looked so silly. Seemed a particularly superficial ticket-selling exercise. Well, maybe not. By all accounts the flick delivers more than some depth of character. Here are clips from reviews:

Ann Hornaday ...even the strangest-looking genetic outliers take on disarmingly human frailties, quirks and admirable qualities.

Dana Stevens: McAvoy and Fassbender, two smart, elegant heartthrobs who are usually more at home in a very different kind of literary adaptation, bring a frisson of intimacy to their scenes together.

That's all good and fine, but will it satisfy action fans?

From Claudia Puig's write up: Director Matthew Vaughn knows how to pack an action movie with a stylish punch, as evidenced in last year's Kick-Ass. Here he revives the flagging franchise with this globe-trotting iteration, infusing it with new life and dazzling visual effects.

Copy that. Here's IGN's video review.
