Poster for 'Safe House' Evolves

Not bad. Usually the 'guy wields gun' element is a little silly but here, somehow, Ryan Reynolds makes it work. And by that I mean you don't roll your eyes, which is...good. His character seems real, like someone you could believe inhabits the world of the story. So, if the plot works, (assuming we can accept the character Washington plays, and why wouldn't we -- the guy delivers), the movie should play.

Here's the first poster:

The tag 'No one is safe' appears over Denzel Washington's image in both posters. It works well to paint him, on a subconscious level, as the smart player who out maneuvers the next guy and is so confident he can smirk while wearing handcuffs -- the flawed protagonist we can like. Now that we've seen it in two posters his character is rounding out, we're getting a feel for the movie. You can't ask for more from posters.

I'm thinking this will draw an audience. In theaters?, who knows. Nobody anymore. But, will be a hot rental and should look great on that 60-inch TV.
