Stills from 'Fright Night'

There's something here. Looks like 'Fright Night' is put this together right. Stills have some weight. Directed by Craig Gillespie, who did 'Mr. Woodcock' and 'Lars and the Real Girl', both of which are character-driven. Written by Marti Noxon, who looks like one of the busiest writers in television, whose latest home has been at 'Mad Men', a show known for well-cut characters.

These guys aren't just collecting a paycheck, going through the motions. Both Imogen Poots and Colin Farrel have that look you see when the script has layers and the director has a handle on character and is able to communicate what he wants from his actors.

I'm thinking this movie, besides being a tight horror/comedy, will have story, characters with some depth, and should draw an audience. Trailers, posters, and stills have a quality feel.

One thing that bothers me, though. Isn't that a bit too much white-face vampire make-up on Farrell? And, why isn't the rest of his body that pale? Just saying. It bothers me...a lot.
