New Image from Pixar's 'Brave'

Subject is on the left side of frame and her body faces the left which, by itself, is visually dynamic. She also looks behind her (to the right side) which adds tension and makes her more vulnerable.

The bear is on the right side, facing left -- toward the frame. This gives him/it the advantage, which puts our protagonist at risk. There are 'dirty' elements in extreme lower right corner, next to the bear's foot (out of focus blades of grass on edge of frame). These are visual cues that the bear is a bad guy. His presence has been 'uglied up'. Otherwise, the inclusion of this element would be a gross oversight -- someone would totally get chewed out for that.

Placement of the elements creates a sense of danger. Also conveys character, even plot.

I like how the claws are emphasized -- they are the only thing in foreground in focus. Not even the blades of grass next to the talons are sharp (which, if the talons themselves are in sharp focus, would be impossible). Subtle element, ramps up the energy, makes the bear (or whatever that is) more frightening on a subconscious level.

Nicely crafted composition. Several elements work together well. A cut above what you get from other studios. About as good as it gets for a still. No surprise there, I suppose.
