Quentin Dupieux's 'Rubber' Shot on a Canon 5D

Manohla Dargis reviews 'Rubber':

...“Rubber” wittily makes do with a single — and ferociously single-minded — car tire. It doesn’t just hit the road, it also wobbles and weaves and executes a diabolically jaunty victory lap, leaving a long bloody smear in its increasingly brutal wake.

She seems to like it, as do most reviewers. Reading her write up, though, I find out 'Rubber' was shot with the Canon 5D II, as was 'La Casa Muda' (Silent House).

Wouldn't have guessed it from the trailers. Beautiful image quality. Using a DSLR to shoot a movie has to be high on the list for aspiring movie makers working on a tight budget. The results are fine. I'd say better than film, especially in low light.

That makes two movies shot on the Canon that look great and have must-see status. Not bad.
