Captivity Cited For 'Grizzly Images'

Restricted 17

For those of you that were put off by the MPAA's R-rating for 'Captivity', which cited 'grizzly images' as one of its reasons for requiring that a person younger than 17 be accompanied by their parent in order to see this movie, I can report that there are no grizzly bears in 'Captivity'. There are a lot of grisly images and bare images, but no grizzly bear images.

While on the subject -- it's not clear why a parent would take their 8 or 10 or 12 year old kid to see a movie about the kidnapping, torture, and rape of a woman. On the other hand, the movie did not do very well at the box office. Perhaps that's because parents did not want their kids to see a movie about the kidnapping, torture, and rape of a woman that includes a grizzly bear. That's too bad.
