I like the atmospheric approach. Shot close to the subject, wide angle, which creates a 'you are there' feel that can easily be brushed with a slightly disorienting tone, especially if camera is handheld and there is noticeable frame motion.

Good choice for an introspective/disturbed character that you want the audience to connect with.
