'Ghetto Physics'

Poster for 'Ghetto Physics: Will the Real Pimps and Hos Please Stand Up'. IMDb has this info:

Based on E. Raymond Brown’s novel Will the Real Pimps and Hos Please Stand Up: Peeping the Multi-leveled Global Game, the film uses interviews, staged scenes, and satire to shed light on how the interplay between pimps and prostitutes is simply a variation of the power dynamic that exists in broader social, political and corporate relationships we all experience.

As the synopsis reads: “From the street to the boardroom, from the Hood to the Oval Office, its the same. The only difference is that while the street Pimps wear colorful clothes, and the streets Ho’s wear little at all.

and

...which features "Dr. Cornel West, Ice-t, Krs-One, Too Short, John Perkins and Norman Lear on the interplay between pimps and prostitutes, and how that power dynamic explains wider political and corporate relationships in the U.S. and abroad." Which is what I've been saying all along. It's set for an October release. [THR]

Could be interesting.

It IS interesting. But don't take my word for it; you can see for yourself in just a few days - check out showtimes on ghettophysics.com. I was lucky enough to catch one of the September sneak previews and was thoroughly impressed by the film's original spin on the post powerful of topics: power itself. It fits in a series of hard hitting docs we've seen recently like an Inconvenient truth or anythign with Michael Moore's name stamped on it. But Ghettophysics sets itself apart through its colorful use of the streets and its focussed target: the individual. In an age when we all feel frustrated, marginalized, downright angry, and powerless to do anything about it, this film reminds us how wrong we are. It is within our own power to decide what role we are going to play in this world; just as a prostitute lets the pimp control her, so do we allow ourselves to be controlled by the the government, the media, the corporate world...finally a film that puts the power back in our hands. I encourage everyone to see this movie and take its message to heart. Stand up and reclaim your power, people; god knows its about time.

This film is exactly what society needs right now! Caught sneak preview in September. This film has inspired me to open my eyes & stop hiding behind other peoples games.

I know we have all been waiting for the next "What the Bleep"... This is some powerful stuff.
