With the weird poster yesterday and the fact that Spike Lee directs I wasn't keen on this remake. (I didn't know what to make of Josh Brolin in this role, either. Just didn't click somehow). However, you'd never guess Lee directed this film and Brolin is totally dialed-in.
Camera/framing, editing, choice of color palette, all look excellent. Lots of forward motion. Good trailer.

Oddboy
Poster for Spike Lee's take on 'Oldboy' doesn't inspire. It's good, no doubt about that, however I'm not sure what this look has to do with this type story. It's odd in the wrong way. And, Spike Lee? Is he right for this? I wondered about him directing as soon as the announcement was made but this freaky poster only makes me wonder more.
Granted, it's too soon to tell. I do like the title design and this detail, though.

Will Smith and Josh Brolin Talk 'MiB3'
Yeah, I know...these interviews are usually fluff, and kinda uncomfortable fluff at that. This is good stuff. Actually informative, but relaxed. Way relaxed. Fun. Worth 7 minutes.
Really, the bit of Brolin impersonating Tommy Lee Jones is very good.
(Okay, this is fluff too, but at least they're not uptight and dreading the next stupid question).

Jaw-Dropping Trailer for 'The Gangster Squad'
Like...wow. The only question is: How much of this is real? How much of this actually happened?
Sean Penn is huge here. Ryan Gosling looks good. Josh Brolin looks good. Nick Nolte looks good (was wondering if that was still doable). Emma Stone looks very good (I knew that was still doable).
Even if they took a lot of liberties with the facts, this movie rocks. If they're telling it like it was, this movie will crush.
"A cop that's not for sale is like a dog with rabies. You just gotta put him down."

Starring Josh Brolin (and Megan Fox)
I saw a trailer for 'Jonah Hex' on TV last night. Nothing special about it except, at the end, the voice over announces the movie as 'starring Josh Brolin'. No mention of Megan Fox even though she was in the same shot when Brolin's name was announced.
I realize there is fall-out from the 'Transformers' thing, but is Fox such a persona non grata they won't even say her name during a trailer?
