What Scares Us?
Here's 'L'appel du Monstre' (The Monster's Calling). Starts simply enough, ends on a subtle note. A nice look at what scares us.

'La Tranchée' (The Trenches) Short Animated Film by Claude Cloutier
Full film isn't available but here's the trailer:
Love the hand drawn water color style. Refreshing change from 3D digital.
Here's a sound design featurette.
Was able to find this short by Claude Cloutier, 'Du Big Bang À Mardi Matin' (From the Big Bang to Tuesday Morning)
There's a depth here you used to see all the time in animation. Now, they just go for schtick.
Goes good with a cup of coffee and donut. Enjoy.

Second Teaser Trailer for 'The Prodigies'
First teaser was very fine. This one hints at more plot. IMDb says:
Five young prodigies assaulted in New York's Central Park plot the perfect revenge.
I'm loving French animation. Here are the poster and some stills from another French animated effort 'A Cat in Paris' (Une Vie de Chat), and a trailer.
Their stuff looks great. Dynamic. Just plain cool. Way different from Hollywood animated movies, which seem to try too hard.

Alone Together from Home de Caramel on Vimeo.
Animated jazzy meditation. Probably best at home, at night, with a stiff drink.

Casual Friday Video
Every Friday Rocketboom runs a video. This week it was a sort of stream-of-consciousness dreamscape scat-singing birds thing.
