The Buzz Of The Day: You Know Who Will Play You Know Who

I guess I'm not an expert. I'm first to admit -- I ain't no fanboy. Don't have the vocabulary, don't know the storylines, don't...really...care.

And, sure, Jeremy Jahns is erudite to say the least. The guy knows his geeky stuff. However, I disagree. Ben Affleck strikes me as the perfect Batman. Thinking about it though, as Jahns mentions toward the end of the video, Affleck makes the perfect Bruce Wayne...but Batman? Maybe, not so much. I'll give him that.

The thing I don't get, for sure, is the tentative title of this flick: 'Batman vs. Superman'. Wha? How does Batman fight Superman? (I'll give you a moment).

Nonetheless, I'm willing to wait and see. I'm thinking they'll knock it out of the park. And, if not (please, no) Affleck can start his comeback all over again.

Not A Bad Harrison Ford Impersonation

Yeah, we don't really need a review of '42' at this point but Jeremy Jahns' impersonation of Harrison Ford is worth watching.

Start at about :57, ends by 1:05.

Not, like, epic -- but fun enough.

Logistics

I don't even care about Justice League and I liked this analysis.

Review of 'Snitch'

I'm thinking 'Snitch' won't do much at the box office, overseas, on TV, rental, you name it. It's both not action-y enough and too character-centric at the same time. Genre fans won't turn out, neither will people who like crime drama/thrillers. Yeah, jangly. But, at the same time, it strikes me as a pretty good movie. Maybe it'll do okay as a rental, who knows.

However, Jeremy Jahns does a great job reviewing the flick.

JJ Reviews First 9 Minutes of 'Star Trek Into Darkness'

This kind of rambles but the guy supports some pretty good conclusions with some pretty good evidence. He goes somewhere with it. Plus, if you haven't seen the 9 minutes it's a pretty good rundown. So...pretty good.

Oh and, sorry, this is Jeremy Jahns not the other JJ. Sue me.

Reviews Are Bad

PA4 is getting raked over the coals. It also comes on the heels of 'Sinister', so it'll be interesting to see how this one plays.

LAT has a round-up with lines like:

"Paranormal" film manages "to wring more scares out of empty rooms than previously thought possible."

"(The movie makers) ... rely on goosing the audience with false scares and bland jolts."

"Asymmetrically framed scenes, staccato editing techniques and oppressive ambient sound (and the ominous lack of a score) are substituted for any real narrative development, leaving a plot essentially consisting of a series of setups followed by frightening payoffs."

Here's Jeremy Jahns' take.

Jeremy Jahns Reviews 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

I agree with every damn thing the guy says. Everything. Judging from trailers, clips, featurettes, etc., I figured the movie would be exactly how Jahns describes it. Precisely.

Jeremy Jahns Reviews 'The Woman in Black'

Remember: It's not a horror movie. Keep saying that. Not...a...horror...movie.

Jeremy Jahns Reviews the White-Hot 'Chronicle'

Yeah, you know, I knew it. From the moment I saw the first poster or trailer, I knew this movie would get major traction. Should do good business.

Jeremy Jahns Reviews 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' and 'The Change-Up'

This guy nails it pretty much every time. Totally go-to reviews.

Jeremy Jahns Reviews 'Horrible Bosses'

This guy is good. He should be on TV. Is he? Should be.

Nice opening shot (unless you're in the 'other 5%'). Are you? You are, aren't you. You're in the dreaded 5%. Admit it. If you are, definitely don't watch this review (to find out what the hell I'm talking about).
