I agree with every damn thing the guy says. Everything. Judging from trailers, clips, featurettes, etc., I figured the movie would be exactly how Jahns describes it. Precisely.

We've seen character posters before -- most summer movies roll them out -- but I think 'Snow White and the Huntsman' is the first movie to have character videos/trailers.

And...they're good.

Well, this is fairly on-the-nose. A movie poster that actually says 'See the Movie'.

I was watching the trailers and looking at the posters and loving the movie and wondering what to do. No more. Now I know to 'see the movie'.

Is anybody accountable anymore?

Terrible clunkiness aside, a nice effort. I like the fox. He's cool. He knows he should see the movie. He just knows it. We don't, but the fox does.

And, where's is this little guy going? Probably to see the movie. He doesn't need to be told twice.

Impressive Clip from 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

We've seen very little of Kristen Stewart in trailers so far. Can't blame the studio as she's so closely identified with a certain other franchise.

Must say, Stewart gives a fine performance here and the clip plays great. Scary. Really good stuff, not like you'd expect from a summer popcorn flick.

Most of the attention thus far has been on Charlize Theron for her rendition of crazy Queen Ravenna (don't tell her I said that), and rightfully so -- her performance is fantastic. With this clip, though, Ms. White steps up.

I'm liking SWATH more and more (and more).

Refines focus. Continues to balance stylized pop imagery and action with heartfelt portrayals of layered characters. As subtle as an indie drama with the impact of a summer blockbuster.

With new footage. Good stuff.

I'm still impressed with Charlize Theron. At 1:56 in this first featurette for example, the quality of her performance is clear. This could be any prestige indie drama. Every second she's on screen it's captivating. Can't take your eyes off her.



Here's a look at the costuming by Colleen Atwood. Fantastic stuff. Looks great.



And a look at Queen Ravenna who, make no mistake, is the central character. Snow White plays a supporting role.

Charlize Theron's Gaze

Reflective (I believe) of the quality of the script and Charlize Theron's performance. The Evil Queen wonders about something as trite as her looks yet the effect is palpable. She takes it very seriously. She's almost stricken. That look, those eyes, that doubt. No sense of camp here. Compelling.

'Snow White and the Huntsman' is pure buttery summer popcorn, but this still could be from an indie drama, an awards contender. Theron has become must-see. She always brings it. I'll wager, when reviews come out, most of the 'Huntsman' talk will be about her.

We had our fun at first, but it's become clear there's no reason to compare this to 'Mirror Mirror'. Looking forward. Very nice.
