New Poster for 'The Cabin in the Woods' -- A Day Late And A Dollar Short But...Brilliant

Where were they keeping this one? Very nice.

Really, they should have gone out with this before the release. The main poster they used -- the Rubik's cube cabin -- wasn't that good and I'm pretty sure we only got one version after the teaser posters. The flick didn't do so well, either. A couple cool posters could have made a difference. Sometimes, weak marketing is a head scratcher. Yeah, I know, there were gobs of ads, but that (main) poster was kind of a turn off.

They're rolling in and they all have the same knowing wink-wink tone. Like there's something special here.

At Quiet Earth, Dead by Dawn says:

• Horror-comedy can be a tricky genre to get right, but Cabin in the Woods just manages to straddle the line between funny and genuinely creepy pretty much throughout, mostly thanks to the inventive writing and playing around of genre conventions from screenwriters Joss 'Firefly' Whedon and Drew 'Cloverfield' Goddard. I really enjoyed it and actually felt it was a near perfect example of how to play the game and keep the audience hooked for 90 minutes of fun and blood and guts. **spoiler warning***

These reviews are all a tip of the hat. 'The Cabin in the Woods' is set up for major business not only in its theatrical run but everywhere it turns up down the road. It's been clear from the get-go this flick would become a cult classic, but I never figured it would be a genre molding event.

It would seem the cabin-in-the-woods class of movies has evolved. There's no turning back. Conventional, by-the-numbers, low-budget schlock just won't do anymore.

Production value is really good. Acting doesn't have that 'yes, we know we're in a cheap horror movie' feel. These guys are actually in the moment.

Love this. Will buy on Blu-ray. This will be huge in theaters and down the road.

Very nicely done. New elements, great edit. Flick's looking better all the time.

When I first heard of 'TCitW' I rolled my eyes. Great, another entry in the...well...cabin-in-the-woods genre, I thought, which are all variations on a theme. But, now, after these trailers, I'm a fan.

Should rock the box office, do well as a rental/stream, command top-drawer ad revenue on TV, and actually sell on disc.

I want the Blu-ray.

Reviews are saying this movie pulls the rug out from under all the usual conventions and this clip is a good example of that. Right when you're about to fall asleep we get a fresh take on a scene we've sat through many times.

Good stuff. A pretty obvious nod to plot elements -- the space, control room, whatever, under the cabin which is accessible via the elevator. "Do you want it to go down?"

Cabin is looking better all the time. Reviews have been very good. The new trailer is sharp. There's talk of a neat twist/reveal (which I think has to do with the identity...I better stop).

This flick has a look. It's different. Great production value. Well, maybe not 'great' necessarily, but crafted in a way we're not used to seeing in this kind of movie.

Plot/Setting is off -- but in a cool way. Will it fly? Looking forward.
