Will Ferrell talks 'Everything Must Go'
At 2:20 Ferrell says about CJ Wallace's acting, he 'just has it', and they needed that because they didn't have the luxury of a lot of takes, didn't have a lot of film stock.
Okay, agree. The kid is a natural. He does have an unfettered non-technique. Comes across believable while still acting, working off Ferrell. Hope to see him in a lot of good stuff.
But -- what strikes me about the comment -- just how tight are budgets these days? They didn't have a lot of film stock? Really... I know film is expensive but having to get stuff in a take or two because you don't have the film seems telling. They used to send miles (literally) of film to the editor for final cut. Times have changed.
Just an observation.

Shark Fighter!
John C. Reilly, Adam McKay, and Will Ferrell talk 'Step Brothers' and other stuff with Terry Gross. Turns out Reilly played in a rock band called Shark Fighter -- Terry gets him to sing 'South Side Boy', which he co-wrote. Classic as usual. (34 minutes).

Funny Or Else
Have you seen The Landlord yet? The short, starring Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, was shot in 45 minutes on a zero budget with a camcorder and has been viewed 30 million times since it was posted April 12.
The movie anchors FunnyorDie.com, the site run by Ferrell and McKay which features comedy shorts by established and up-and-coming talent. NYT reports FunnyorDie has picked up financial backing and is talking with advertisers.

Funny Or Die
Online video sites are sprouting like weeds. The newest one I know of is called, that's right, Funny or Die. They have this very cool, very funny short with Will Ferrell called 'The Landlord'. Be warned, though -- this piece is not just politically incorrect, it's downright...um...oh, let's see...degenerate. I loved it. Here's wishing F or D the best.
