High Confidence Trailer for 'Violet & Daisy'

Directed by Geoffrey Fletcher, who wrote 'Precious' and, apparently, learned to handle actors very nicely from Lee Daniels.

Only problem is this wrapped in 2011, so there may be concerns. Maybe not, though. On the flip side there's Saoirse Ronan, Alexis Bledel, and James Gandolfini. At the very least this is must-know, must-rent.

Neil Jordan's 'Byzantium'

To me, though probably not many others, 'Byzantium' is must-see. The kind of movie you can settle into on a quiet afternoon (at home. I rarely go to the theater anymore).

Neil Jordan has the touch with deeply character-driven stories and Saoirse Ronan, I believe, will become go to for this kind of work. People will care about the characters she portrays.

May not score at the box office but should do well as a rental, on disc, and TV.

I've said it before. This one is worth seeing just for Cate Blanchett playing the heavy. Her affixing a silencer to an automatic is akin to Nicole Kidman wielding a shotgun in 'The Others'. That Cate wears latex gloves while doing it only adds to the...what's the word?...enticement.
