Whit Stillman talks 'Damsels in Distress'
This is the guy that wrote and directed 'The Last Days of Disco', a wonderfully atmospheric meditation, way back in 1998. Remember that one?
Yeah, that one. Fast-foward 14 years -- the guy doesn't do a lot of movies -- and, poof, here's the poster for Damsels.
Great stuff. They have that 'event' feel. A cinematic marker. How does he do that?
Damsels is doing very well -- $64,000 in 4 theaters for an average of $16k.
